Arthur T.
Coumbe

Former associate Professor of history at the U.S. Military Academy located at West Point NY and presently a researcher/historian for the Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis (OEMA), an Army think tank also situated at West Point.  Previously a historian for the U.S. Army Cadet Command, the organization responsible for the Army’s ROTC program.  Has over 30 years experience in teaching, research and administration.  Has been teaching history at both the graduate and undergraduate level since 1986.    Courses include Military History, World History, History of Western Civilization, and U.S. History.  Presented over 20 papers at History Conferences and has authored numerous articles and books.  All papers, articles, and books are focused on military history and the military officer corps.   Areas of academic interest and research are: ROTC, the United States Military Academy, Officer Management, Military Manpower. Professional Military Education, Officer Accessions, and Religion in the Military. Spent 30 years in the Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. Assignments included Brigade S-2, Battalion Commander, Deputy Brigade Commander.  Retired as an Colonel (0-6).
